Lauren Price MBE: Graft, Belief and Giving Back

“Everything I’ve achieved, I’ve had to graft and work hard for.”

Before the Olympic gold and world titles, Lauren Price was a young girl from the Valleys with big ambitions. Getting there took years of dedication, sacrifice and determination — including late nights driving taxis to help fund her sporting career.

Raised by her grandparents, Lauren grew up with a nan who encouraged her to "reach for the moon". That belief stayed with her as she worked towards her goals, first on the world’s biggest amateur stage and then in professional boxing.

In this video, Lauren reflects on the work behind those achievements and the people who helped her along the way. Her words offer an honest account of what it takes to pursue an ambition, particularly when the opportunities and resources aren’t always easy to find.

Her story is about graft, the people who back you and remembering to give something back.

Proud to Back Welsh Talent

At MASANAS, we’re proud to sponsor Lauren and work with her to support the next generation of Welsh talent.

Her commitment to remembering where she came from and giving something back reflects values we share. Having someone of Lauren’s standing speak openly about her early years can help young people see a future for themselves in sport — and understand the effort that goes into reaching it.

Lauren’s achievements are her own, earned through years of work. We’re pleased to play a part in supporting her as she continues her career and inspires others across Wales.
